BlackRock is in the final stages of acquiring index firm Preqin and the CEO has announced the firm’s plan to index the private market after the acquisition. The plan is to bring the principles of indexing iShares to the private markets as it remains a significant part of public markets. BlackRock decided to pursue this indexing of the private market after discovering an increased demand amongst investors for relevant data. After Blackrock’s ETH and BTC spot ETFs filing, Solana is the new potential product. With BlackRock’s recent talks about indexing the private market, it may next be in line for a Solana ETF.
