Over the last two weeks, AI agent ai16z [AI16Z] saw a massive 200% rally following bullish updates, including the expected Eliza agent launchpad in Q1 2025. Additionally, the token would be the primary ecosystem token with several value accrual features.
However, whales have begun cashing out from their AI16Z positions, according to analytics firm LookOnChain. In its latest update, the firm stated,
“Another whale sold all 2.27M $ai16z($4.77M) at $2.1 4 hours ago, making a profit of ~$4.47M(+1008%) on #ai16z.”
Other wallets with significant unrealized profits also took profits as the token crossed $2 on 01 January.
Will the AI agent stay above $2?
Since late December, the entire AI agent segment has seen intense speculative froth and attention. In fact, Kaito revealed that AI mindshare topped nearly 60% – The highest ever for any narrative.

The hottest AI trends, agents, including AI16Z, were the main beneficiaries. Several exchanges like Binance jumped on the trend and listed AI16Z and others on Futures Markets.
Since 29 December, AI16Z’s Open Interest (OI) has surged from $1M to over $80M – A whopping 8,000% hike. This highlighted massive speculative interest among Futures traders.

Interestingly, experts have also projected a massive AI agent trend dominance in 2025. While current AI agents have been criticized for being mere chatbots, most pundits anticipate refined updates and agent-to-agent commerce in the next 6-12 months.
