Binance announces support for IoTeX (IOTX) network upgrade and hard fork, with deposits and withdrawals temporarily suspended on December 17, 2024.

Binance Announces Support for IoTeX Network Upgrade

In a significant move for the IoTeX community, Binance has announced its support for the upcoming IoTeX (IOTX) network upgrade and hard fork. According to Binance, the upgrade is scheduled to occur at the block height of 33,730,921, which is expected around 2024-12-17 02:20 (UTC).

Impact on Binance Services

To facilitate the upgrade, Binance will temporarily suspend deposits and withdrawals of IoTeX tokens starting approximately at 2024-12-17 01:20 (UTC). However, the trading of IoTeX tokens will remain unaffected during this period. Binance assures its users that all technical requirements will be managed by the platform, ensuring a smooth transition.

Reopening of Services

Deposits and withdrawals will resume once the network is considered stable post-upgrade. Binance has stated that no further announcements will be made regarding the reopening of these services, emphasizing the importance of monitoring the network’s stability.

Additional Considerations

Binance advises users to refer to the original English version of its announcements for the most accurate information, noting that there may be discrepancies in translated versions. For further technical details on the upgrade, users can consult the announcement from the IoTeX project team on their GitHub page.

This network upgrade and hard fork signify an important step in IoTeX’s ongoing development, aimed at enhancing its blockchain infrastructure and user experience.
