American prosecution would like Heather Morgan, popularly known as Razzlekhan, to spend 18 months in jail, an academic fraudster charged with laundering 120,000 BTC stolen from Bitfinex in 2016. The prosecutors urged the court to spare Morgan because she assisted in the investigation and played a comparatively smaller part than her husband Ilya Lichtenstein, who planned the robbery. Morgan entered a guilty plea in August 2023 to money laundering and fraud charges and while she is facing up to a ten-year term, the prosecution has noted her ‘substantial cooperation’. She is set to be sentenced on November 15 of the year 2024.
