The post BOJ May Defer Additional Interest Rate Hikes To Next Year: Former BOJ Official appeared first on Coinpedia Fintech News
As per a report from Bloomberg, A former Bank of Japan (BOJ) official has said that the central bank would defer additional interest rate hikes to next year. ‘They won’t be able to hike again, at least for the rest of the year’, he said. The BOJ raised its key interest rate to about 0.25% from a range of zero on July 31, the first hike in over a decade, while also signaling additional rate hikes. This had weighed heavily on BTC, crashing from roughly $65,000 to $50,000 in less than seven days. Bitcoin has since recovered to trade above $58,000 amidst signs of a risk reset on Wall Street.
