Hamster Kombat, the popular game on Telegram, has hit a major snag with its highly anticipated HMSTR token airdrop. What was supposed to be a groundbreaking event in the crypto world now faces significant delays. With 300 million gamers and investors alike are left wondering what’s causing the hold-up and when they can expect to receive their tokens.
Airdrop Delays Due to Technical Issues
The big HMSTR token airdrop, originally planned for this month, has been postponed. The team explained that the complexity of handling such a large-scale airdrop could potentially overload The Open Network (TON) blockchain. With around 300 million registered users, ensuring a smooth distribution is proving difficult.
Perhaps, they did not provide a new date, making it hard to know when the airdrop will happen.
Despite the setback, the Hamster Kombat team remains committed to making the airdrop a success. They assured users that all registered players will receive their tokens, though the amount each person gets will depend on their participation in various activities. The only mandatory step for receiving tokens is to connect a TON wallet to the player’s profile.
OKX To List HMSTR Token
While the official airdrop date remains uncertain, the HMSTR token is generating significant interest in the pre-market. OKX exchange has announced it will list HMSTR tokens for pre-market futures trading, joining other platforms like ByBit, KuCoin, Gate.io, and BitGet.
This move reflects high demand but also highlights the speculative nature of trading tokens before their official release.
The Hamster Kombat whitepaper indicates that 60% of the HMSTR tokens will be distributed to players, with the remainder allocated to partnerships, market liquidity, and other purposes. The development team has no plans to sell its token allocation, focusing instead on building a sustainable business model.
TapSwap Faces Similar Delays
TapSwap, another tap-to-earn game, is also experiencing delays. It plans to hold a token generation event (TGE) in the third quarter of 2024 but has not set a specific date yet. TapSwap’s founder, Naz Ventura, said they are working hard on the best product and will announce the date once everything is ready.
Both Hamster Kombat and TapSwap follow in the footsteps of Notcoin, a leading tap-to-earn game. Notcoin recently gave out over 80 billion NOT tokens, worth about $1 billion
