Yamakoshi, a Japanese village, has launched an initiative leveraging NFTs to face a unique challenge of maintaining community growth while its demographics shift. The village has launched the Nishikigoi NFT project called the ‘Neo-Yamakoshi Village Project’ which has attracted 1,700 digital citizens worldwide. By using a distributed autonomous organization (DAO), holders of these tokens can participate in village decision-making. Nishikigoi NFTs are free for residents who live in physical locations but have to be purchased by those living in the digital world. The floor price is 0.0318 Ether as of June 27.
