Makalu Testnet Signals the Rise of AI-Native Blockchains

Lithosphere introduces infrastructure designed for AI execution, agent-based systems, and cross-chain intelligent coordination, marking a shift in blockchain evolution.

SINGAPORE, SG – April 01, 2026 – As artificial intelligence continues to reshape the structure of the internet, Lithosphere has launched its Makalu Testnet, introducing an infrastructure layer designed specifically for AI-native blockchain systems. The release reflects a broader convergence between AI and decentralized technologies, positioning Lithosphere at the forefront of building systems where intelligent computation operates directly within blockchain environments.

At the core of this architecture is Lithic, a smart contract language that enables structured AI execution on-chain. Unlike traditional systems where AI operates externally, Lithic allows intelligent processes to be defined, governed, and verified within decentralized applications. This enables a new class of systems where decision-making, execution, and verification occur as part of the protocol itself.

The Makalu Testnet also introduces an agent-based infrastructure model, where autonomous systems operate as active participants within the network. These agents are capable of executing transactions, coordinating across systems, and interacting with other agents in real time. This creates the foundation for AI-to-AI transactions, where intelligent systems can exchange value, data, and execution outcomes without direct human intervention.

Supporting this model is MultX, a cross-chain interoperability engine that enables coordination of liquidity and execution across multiple blockchain environments. MultX allows intelligent systems to access and utilize resources across networks in a unified manner, reducing fragmentation and enabling more efficient operation of decentralized applications. This capability is particularly significant for AI-driven systems that require access to distributed liquidity and data sources.

“AI is changing how systems operate, and infrastructure must evolve to support that shift,” said J. King Kasr, Chief Scientist at KaJ Labs. “Makalu represents the first step toward an environment where intelligent systems can execute, coordinate, and interact within decentralized networks without relying on external layers.”

The launch of the Makalu Testnet reflects a broader transformation in how the internet is structured. Rather than focusing solely on transactions or assets, the next phase of infrastructure is centered on enabling intelligent systems to operate natively within decentralized environments. This emerging model introduces a new layer where AI-driven processes coordinate across networks, forming the foundation of what is increasingly being defined as Web4.

By integrating AI execution, agent-based interaction, and cross-chain coordination into a unified infrastructure, Lithosphere establishes a framework for building applications that go beyond traditional blockchain capabilities. The Makalu Testnet provides developers and researchers with an environment to explore this convergence, supporting the development of systems where intelligence is embedded directly into decentralized protocols.

About Lithosphere

Lithosphere develops blockchain infrastructure designed to support programmable digital assets, cross-chain interoperability, and AI-native decentralized execution environments. The platform focuses on enabling intelligent systems to operate within verifiable, decentralized networks through structured execution models and interoperable protocols.
