NVIDIA introduces new Omniverse libraries and Cosmos AI models, enhancing robotics development with advanced simulation and data generation capabilities.

NVIDIA has announced a significant expansion of its Omniverse libraries and Cosmos AI models, aimed at accelerating the development and deployment of robotics solutions. These advancements, unveiled at the SIGGRAPH conference, are set to enhance the capabilities of developers in creating more sophisticated and accurate digital simulations and AI models.

Omniverse Libraries and Cosmos Models

The new Omniverse libraries and Cosmos world foundation models (WFMs) are designed to support large-scale world reconstruction and spatial reasoning. These tools are powered by NVIDIA’s RTX PRO Servers and DGX Cloud, which allow developers to create digital twins, generate synthetic data, and build AI agents capable of understanding the physical world.

Rev Lebaredian, vice president of Omniverse and simulation technologies at NVIDIA, highlighted the convergence of computer graphics and AI as a transformative force in robotics. This integration is expected to significantly impact industries by enabling the development of advanced robots and autonomous vehicles.

Industry Adoption and Applications

Several industry leaders, including Amazon Devices & Services, Boston Dynamics, and Figure AI, are adopting these new technologies to enhance their robotics development. The Omniverse libraries and Isaac Sim are being utilized to power new manufacturing solutions and accelerate AI robotics development.

Additionally, the Cosmos WFMs have been downloaded over two million times, facilitating diverse data generation for training robots at scale. The new Cosmos Transfer-2 model simplifies data generation and enhances speed and accuracy, supporting developers in creating photorealistic synthetic data.

Advanced AI Infrastructure

To support these technological advancements, NVIDIA has also introduced a robust AI infrastructure capable of handling demanding workloads. This infrastructure is crucial for developers aiming to leverage the full potential of NVIDIA’s technologies in their robotics and AI projects.

Moreover, NVIDIA has launched the OpenUSD Curriculum and Certification to address the growing demand for USD expertise, in collaboration with industry giants like Adobe, Amazon Robotics, and Pixar. This initiative aims to further accelerate the adoption of 3D and simulation technologies across various sectors.

In a related development, NVIDIA is collaborating with Lightwheel to integrate robot policy training frameworks into the NVIDIA Isaac Lab, enhancing capabilities in robot manipulation and locomotion.
