Web3 game developer DEXStudios has teamed up with Ethereum-based ZK rollup Kroma to bring an exclusive Ore NFT airdrop campaign to MotoDEX, an NFT motorcycle racing game.
Airdrop Details
To participate, players have to simply connect their wallet to the browser version of the game using the link in this tweet, and after pressing the POAP button there, you have successfully opted into the campaign, giving you a chance to be among the 20 winners to earn a share of a 1000 Ore NFT reward pool. Anyone interested has until July 21st to participate.
Ore NFTs are mysterious resources that can be refined in the Factory of the Kroma Creative Universe (KCU), a gamified platform that is expanding with various dApps, each designed to serve a specific purpose so that you can prepare to enjoy upcoming interactive experiences. By refining an Ore NFT, owners have an 80% chance of gaining a Mystic Alloy NFT, while failing the process gives you back an Ore Fragment. Combining 2 Ore Fragments gets you an Ore NFT guaranteed, but refining 2 Mystic Alloys comes with a 60% chance of getting a Mystic Box, with the failed items being 2 Ore Fragments. It’s this Mystic Box that you need for a 100% chance of getting a Pro Gamer’s Item as part of the chain’s Pro Gamers Season 2. These Pro Gamer’s Items seem to represent the highest-tier items in the KCU that you can equip on your Kroman profile picture. The Kroman PFP will be possible to mint in the Gate of the KCU soon. Pro Gamer’s Items are divided into 6 categories, with each category consisting of 4 different items of varying rarity. Each item awards you with a different score, and you’ll want to have as high of a score as you can for a chance at winning a bigger share of the $KRO airdrop. Equipping all 6 items of the same rarity gives you a score boost. By having at least 60 points, you’re qualified for the airdrop, as long as the items are equipped to your Kroman PFP using the Armory feature that’s planned to launch mid-July.
How to Earn in MotoDEX
MotoDEX is one of the 2 currently available Web3 games in DEXStudio’s ecosystem. To start playing for free, it looks like the only way to do is by downloading the Web2 version for Android or iOS, where you can play one free track that awards 50 coins for each run. The track has you use slopes while avoiding obstacles and managing your boost by paying attention to the engine’s temperature, making it sure it doesn’t overheat and thus slow you down. Coins earned from completing these free races can be used to buy Avatars and Tracks, also available via in-app purchases. You’ll need plenty of these coins to get them though.
To start earning in MotoDEX, you’ll want to jump in the main multi-chain browser-based game, where you need to buy a Moto Avatar NFT to start your play and earn journey. These are playable motorcycle racers available through the game’s dApp alongside the studio’s official marketplace, OpenBiSea. This means you can choose whether you’d like to buy Polygon-based assets from other players or purchase from the developers by connecting your wallet to one of the many supported chains, among which are Polygon, ICP, NEAR, Sui, Mantle, Base, and more. According to the game’s official website, every new purchase “increases the value of the NFT object by 1%” while purchasing Track NFTs brings a 10% increase.
With a Moto Avatar NFT, you are eligible to participate in play to earn competitive races on various different tracks designed to resemble cities such as London, Dubai, Melbourne and more. Each competition has an entry fee in the form of a minimum bet size determined by the track owner. Once you place your bet, you’re able to race against other players while dodging obstacles and bots preventing you from achieving victory. If you manage to win the race, you’ll be rewarded 60% of the money placed by all participants as bets. Track NFT owners receive 30% of these bets, while the developers take a 10% cut.
