SlowMist has raised caution about the increasing phishing threats within Telegram’s TON ecosystem. Founder Yu Xian identified the root cause as vulnerabilities in the platform’s openness, which allows for scams via message groups and airdrops. Users with anonymous numbers are especially vulnerable, potentially losing funds and Telegram accounts. Although TON has rapidly grown over 2024, with a 4,500% increase in Total Value Locked (TVL) to $648 million, security concerns persist. Therefore, experts warn against scams targeting TON projects like Toncoin and Notcoin, and advise users to exercise greater caution.
