Vietnam has passed the Law on Digital Technology, officially recognizing Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as digital assets. Set to take effect on January 1, 2026, the law distinguishes crypto from traditional financial assets without classifying them as securities or currency. Though not a full regulatory framework, it’s a key first step toward clearer crypto rules.
