Valora, a peer-to-peer payment platform, is the latest company trying to enter the Web3-centric smartphone class. As the trend of integrating smartphone apps and Web3 technology seems to be on the rise, the US-based company has launched a ‘Mobile Stack’ that serves as a launchpad for running Web3 applications on smartphones and used a new service called. According to Valora, Web3 service providers can help with interactive applications that can create email-based customer onboarding processes with just one touch and create them in minutes.
Ambitions of Velora Web3
Valora co-founder and CEO Jackie Bona confirmed the development in a post on X over the weekend. This 45-second clip explains how Valora’s mobile stack enables people to instantly build decentralized applications (dApps).
The stack also provides on-ramp services for purchasing digital currencies using fiat and navigating the ecosystem of these dApps. Additionally, Mobile Stack also allows for easy swiping of crypto tokens.
“I am happy to introduce a project called Mobile Stack that the Valora team is working on. We see a tremendous opportunity to bring customers around the world to Web3 and deliver great mobile experiences.” A video showing how the Mobile Stack system works.
Mobile Stack’s official website says that only eight of the top 100 Web3 companies offer mobile-first experiences, and Valora analyzed this.
The company reportedly calls the current method of adapting Web3 apps to smartphones “cumbersome.”
About the integration of Web 3 and smartphones
In recent years, the concept of integrated Web3 phone devices has attracted the attention of industry participants.
Binance-backed CoralApp recently launched its flagship smartphone, the Coral Phone, which comes with Web3 features.
In May, African technology company Jambo introduced the JamboPhone, which supports multiple Web3 features.
Solana Labs was the first major Web3 company to integrate smartphones and Web3 through its 2022 Solana Saga smartphone.
Despite these improvements, we believe that the Web3 space is not fully integrated into smartphones. According to the official Mobile Stack blog, this issue is due to the significant challenges we face in developing secure and comprehensive mobile cryptographic applications.
“Creating an intuitive user interface for such complex functions is even more difficult. Without an easy way to design a user-friendly interface that can effectively handle these diverse needs, any opportunity to onboard new users into the ecosystem is lost,” the post notes.
