In what is a monumental development for the cryptocurrency, XRP has briefly surpassed $3 to inch closer to its all-time high. Indeed, the cryptocurrency has been skyrocketing in value, jumping more than 31% since the start of 2025. Now, all eyes are on just where this increase could take the token.
Ripple’s XRP breached the $2.89 mark for the first time since early December. Moreover, it overtook Tether USD (USDT) to become the third-largest crypto by market cap. Not only did it usurp the stablecoin staple, but its $171.48 billion market value also surpassed $11.5 trillion asset manager BlackRock.

XRP Breaks Through $3: Where Can It Go Next?
It has certainly been an interesting few years for Ripple and its native XRP token. The company has been in the crosshairs of the United States regulation by enforcement approach. Indeed, it found itself in a years-long legal battle with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that may be finally nearing its resolution.
Yet, with the agency embracing new leadership amid US President-elect Donald Trump’s return to the White House, things are looking up for Ripple. That is clearly seen in its XRP token, as the asset has broken through $3 to set a new all-time high. The question is, Where does it go from here?

Over the last 24 hours, XRP has jumped more than 15.7%, according to CoinMarketCap. Moreover, it has jumped a remarkable 30% over the last seven days alone to currently trade at the $2.99 mark. Additionally, its market cap is up 15%, with its trading volume skyrocketing by 141% over the last day.
According to crypto price prediction platform CoinCodex, XRP is expected to remain around the $3 mark for most of the next two months. However, that is set to change in March, when it hits a $4.89 all-time high. Up 64% from its current position, the platform expects that to be its yearly high.
That could end up being on the conservative end of price predictions. With Trump set to usher in a new era for the SEC, the token could be set to continue increasing. Crypto analyst Steph Is Crypto is among the XRP believers. In a post to X (formerly Twitter), they predicted it could surge as high as $14.
