YouTuber Steven “Boogie2988” has addressed his community following recent allegations against him. For context, on June 27, 2024, the content creator tweeted that he was “about to crush the internet” and tagged pump.fun, a cryptocurrency organization that helps people launch a coin that is “instantly tradable for under $2.”

After netizens expressed concerns about his venture, Boogie2988 said he was trying to pay for his cancer treatments and that he planned to launch a “sh**ty meme coin for laughs.”

He posted:

“No. It’s not serious at all. It’s just a sh**ty meme coin for people to buy for laughs. No pump and dump. No one who would take this serious(ly) at all, other than a few trolls.”

Earlier today (June 28, 2024), prominent YouTube investigator Stephen “Coffeezilla” responded to Boogie2988’s post, and revealed that his cryptocurrency coin, Faddy Coin, had lost 90% of its value in the past 24 hours.

Coffeezilla wrote:

“‘Your coin’s value just went up.’ Faddy Coin is down -90% in the last 24 hours.”

Later, Boogie2988 addressed the controversy, claiming that he “knew” none of his fans would create a Coinbase account to purchase his cryptocurrency. However, he believed a “bunch of crypto millionaires” would “waste 0.01% of their worth” on his project.

The 49-year-old said:

“Fine, I’ll speak as succinctly and bluntly as I can. I knew zero of my fans would download Coinbase, (and) create an account, just to buy a s**t coin. It literally wasn’t going to happen. But a bunch of crypto millionaires might come in and waste .01% of their worth on a meme coin as a joke and they did.”

The YouTuber went on to say that “we’re good” because there was no “actual fan” who bought the coin he created:

“I don’t care if a multi-millionaire loses less than a percent of their holdings. That happens to crypto bros all day every day. I don’t care one bit about it. I would really care if there was an actual fan who started crypto just to buy a coin I told them not to buy, tho. But that person doesn’t exist, so we’re good.”

YouTuber Boogie2988 claims he “told everyone not to buy” his crypto coin amid recent allegations

On June 28, 2024, X user @XylieGetsReal asked Boogie2988 to “make a statement” after his cryptocurrency lost 90.07% of its value. In response, the YouTuber stated he “told everyone not to buy” his coin because they “would go broke” if they invested. He added that he was “not surprised” that his coin was worthless.
