BABA is pinned at $106.51 with every moving average stacked above it and Wall Street’s mean price target sitting near $185 — a 74% gap markets stubbornly refuse to close. The November 24 earnings r…

Stuck at the Floor — BABA’s $106 Pivot Is Under Siege

Alibaba’s core narrative right now centers on heavy AI and cloud investment, with early revenue gains colliding against clear pressure on near-term profitability — and the stock has reflected that tension in its price. The Binance tokenized price of $106.51 with a 24-hour range of just $105.57 to $106.68 tells you this thing is coiling, not recovering. An ATR of $2.61 confirms the capacity for a sharp directional move; the market is just waiting for a reason.

The reason that matters most arrives on November 24, 2026 — BABA’s next scheduled earnings release, with an EPS estimate of ¥10.96. That date is the wall every short-term trade has to navigate around. Alibaba plans more than $55 billion in capital expenditure through FY2028, and the bull thesis lives or dies on whether that spending begins to produce margin expansion rather than just top-line growth. Right now, the P&L is screaming the former hasn’t happened yet.

Blockchain.news has been tracking BABA’s tokenized equity price action on Binance, where 24/7 trading creates early price discovery ahead of regular Wall Street sessions — and what that 24/7 price is telling you is that buyers aren’t willing to pay up ahead of a catalyst they don’t trust.

Every Moving Average Is Above You — The Bearish Structure That Won’t Quit

BABA at $106.51 is trading below its SMA 7 ($107.42), SMA 20 ($110.42), and SMA 50 ($114.10) — all stacked in descending order above price. That’s not a consolidation; that’s a downtrend with overhead supply at every turn. The EMA 12 ($108.56) and EMA 26 ($110.50) paint the same picture. Until BABA clears $107.36 strong resistance with volume conviction, every bounce is a selling opportunity, not a long entry.

RSI at 35.76 is approaching oversold but hasn’t crossed the 30-line flush. That’s the dangerous zone — momentum is deteriorating without being fully exhausted, which means sellers are methodically in control. The MACD lines at -1.9454 have effectively converged, histogram at zero, signaling that bearish momentum has stopped accelerating but found no catalyst to reverse. Stochastics at %K 9.03 and %D 7.23 are deeply compressed — technically a mean-reversion setup, but stochastics in a structural downtrend can stay pinned for weeks.

Bollinger Band %B at 0.2048 places price in the lower fifth of the band range, with the lower Bollinger support sitting at $103.80. Immediate support is $105.83, with the stronger floor at $105.14. Those are the lines that matter. The open interest on futures fell 0.93% over 24 hours — contracts being closed, not initiated — and taker sell volume is outpacing buys at a 0.92 ratio. The one data point bulls can hold onto: smart money positioning shows an 80.5% long bias at a 4.12 L/S ratio, with retail also running 72.2% long. The crowded long position is a double-edged sword — supportive above $105.14, a forced unwind below it.

74% Below Consensus at 23.95x TTM P/E — The Value Trap Debate

Here’s the Wall Street setup in plain terms. Yahoo Finance shows a 1-year analyst price target estimate of $185.58, with the high reaching $238.59 and the low at $95.35, against a stock currently at $106.51. That’s a 74% gap to the mean — either the market is profoundly mispricing a quality asset, or Wall Street’s consensus is built on optimism the company has repeatedly failed to deliver. The four-quarter EPS miss history makes that question uncomfortable. BABA has missed earnings estimates in every quarter of FY2026: by -24.55% in the September quarter, -35.18% in December, -89.20% in March, and -21.26% in August. Four consecutive misses is not bad luck — it’s a guidance credibility problem.

Yahoo Finance shows a trailing P/E of 23.95x on TTM EPS of $4.42, with a market cap of approximately $263 billion, a profit margin of 7.04%, and ROE of 6.36%. That operating profitability profile is weak for a company of Alibaba’s scale. Trailing net profit margins have eased from 13% to roughly 10.3%, with trailing net profit of ¥105.9 billion on ¥1.02 trillion in revenue. That’s the cost of the investment cycle.

But the forward growth case is real and shouldn’t be dismissed. Cloud Intelligence Group revenue grew 35% from external customers, and AI-related product revenue delivered triple-digit year-over-year growth for the tenth consecutive quarter. Analyst revenue estimates for the current September 2026 quarter come in at ¥270.45 billion (9.14% growth YoY), with full-year FY2027 revenue expected to reach ¥1.12 trillion. Analysts expect EPS to grow 43.7% over the next year, which at the current price implies a meaningful valuation re-rating is possible — provided the earnings misses stop.

As of March 2026, Alibaba held approximately $38 billion in net cash, providing a real balance sheet cushion. For long-term fundamental investors following this name through Blockchain.news, that net cash fortress is the structural backstop that keeps the bear case from becoming existential — but it doesn’t fix a quarter-over-quarter profitability deterioration narrative.

Bull Case — 35% probability: BABA holds $105.14 strong support, the deeply compressed Stochastics trigger a mean-reversion squeeze, and price grinds back through $107.36 resistance. A convincing close above that level opens the SMA 7 and then the $110.42 SMA 20. The realistic 30-day bull target is $112–$115, where prior support-turned-resistance provides natural overhead friction. Tactical entry at $105.50–$106.00 on a confirmed bounce; hard stop at $104.50; target $112–$115. Risk/reward approaches 1:3 in this scenario, which is the only reason it remains a live trade.

Bear Case — 65% probability: The moving average structure holds as resistance, $105.14 gives way, and the crowded long position begins to unwind. A break below $105.14 targets the lower Bollinger Band at $103.80 in short order, with $100–$102 as the next meaningful support zone if that fails. Given four consecutive earnings misses, the market is already pricing skepticism into the November 24 report. BABA carries a Buy consensus from 59 analysts, with 51 Buy or Strong Buy ratings, but Wall Street analyst consensus has been wrong all year on near-term earnings. If November 24 delivers another significant miss versus the ¥10.96 EPS estimate, the psychological break of $100 becomes a real risk event.

The optimal strategy: don’t force a position here. The technical structure favors waiting for either a confirmed hold of $105.14 on rising volume or a post-earnings breakout above $110 for aggressive longs. For those already long, $104.50 is a non-negotiable stop. BABA is a deeply discounted equity with a legitimate AI and cloud growth engine — Blockchain.news will continue monitoring the tokenized price action as November 24 approaches — but discounted and bottomed are two different things, and right now only one of those is confirmed.
