Binance will open spot trading for Hyperliquid’s HYPE token at 11 a.m. UTC on September 24, listing it against USDT, USDC, and the Turkish lira, the exchange announced a few hours before launch. The listing carries a Seed Tag, Binance’s label for newer tokens it considers more volatile, and requires traders to pass a risk quiz every 90 days before they can buy or sell the token. For Hyperliquid, the perpetuals-focused decentralized exchange that climbed the rankings on its own rails, a spot listing on the world’s largest exchange puts HYPE in front of retail order flow it has not had before.
Three pairs and a staggered rollout
Trading starts at 11 a.m. UTC with HYPE/USDT, HYPE/USDC, and HYPE/TRY pairs. Binance opened deposits ahead of the launch and will enable withdrawals at 11 a.m. UTC on September 25, and it said it charged no listing fee for the token. Spot algorithmic orders go live alongside trading, while trading bots and spot copy trading follow within 24 hours. The Turkish lira pair is reserved for users with verified Binance TR accounts, and residents of the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, and several other jurisdictions cannot trade any of the three pairs.
A Seed Tag that raises the bar
Binance applies the Seed Tag to newer projects it deems more volatile and riskier than its established listings, and HYPE carries it from the first day of trading. Users must pass a risk quiz every 90 days to trade HYPE on Binance Spot or Margin, and the exchange warned that the token is relatively new and likely to see sharp price swings. The requirement means casual buyers cannot jump straight in without first acknowledging the risk profile Binance has assigned to the token.
A spot listing for a DEX-native token
The listing marks a meaningful step for Hyperliquid, which built a fully onchain order book and reached a top-tier market position largely on its own rails. Binance Futures already offered a HYPE perpetual contract, but a spot listing puts the token in front of Binance’s broader retail base. It lands during an active stretch for the project: Hyperliquid notched a third all-time high in a week as Kraken expanded its perpetuals coverage, and it recently added manual borrowing and lending.
Early price reaction
HYPE edged higher after Binance published the notice. TradingView data for the HYPE/USD pair on Coinbase showed the token up roughly 1.5 percent within ten minutes, briefly nearing 1.9 percent before giving back part of the move. The next checkpoint is the 11 a.m. UTC opening, when Binance order books go live and traders see whether the token holds its early gains once spot volume begins flowing through the exchange.
