Blackrock Pulls $11.75 Million Into ETHA as Ether Funds Outpace Bitcoin Again

Key Takeaways

  • Blackrock’s ETHA led ether ETFs to $9.23M inflows on July 27 as bitcoin lost $11.64M.
  • Bitcoin’s 3-day outflow streak shows institutions rotating toward ether and smaller altcoins.
  • HYPE lost $2.89M, testing whether its $279.22M asset base can stabilize after launch.

Ether ETFs Add $9.23 Million as Bitcoin Withdrawals Extend to 3 Days

Institutional crypto demand opened the week on an uneven footing. Ether funds found fresh buyers, smaller altcoin products edged higher and bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) remained under pressure, extending the reversal that began late last week.

Bitcoin ETFs recorded $11.64 million in net outflows on Monday, July 27. The loss was modest compared with recent sessions, but it marked a third straight day in the red.

Ether Gains as Bitcoin Flows Stay Muted

Only two bitcoin funds reported net activity. Blackrock’s IBIT posted an $8.82 million withdrawal, while Fidelity’s FBTC lost $2.82 million. No bitcoin ETF attracted fresh capital during the session. Total trading value reached $1.34 billion, while combined net assets closed at $78.71 billion.

Ether ETFs moved in the opposite direction. The category drew $9.23 million, led by an $11.75 million addition to Blackrock’s ETHA. A $2.52 million withdrawal from Invesco’s QETH reduced the final total. Ether ETF trading value reached $775.34 million, and net assets ended the day at $10.65 billion.

The contrast reflected the selective nature of institutional demand. Bitcoin remains the market’s benchmark crypto exposure, but investors have recently shown a greater willingness to allocate toward ether when conditions allow.

Giselle Lai, Director, Digital Assets Strategist at Fidelity International, told Bitcoin.com News that bitcoin is often the first stop for institutions entering the crypto market. She said ETFs are lowering the barrier to entry and helping large investors make more informed allocation decisions, rather than simply encouraging them to buy or sell bitcoin.

Solana and XRP Rise While HYPE Extends Slide

Solana ETFs attracted $1.03 million, with most of the capital going to Bitwise’s BSOL. Total trading value was $39.55 million, while net assets closed at $889.31 million.

XRP ETFs added a more modest $592,470. The entire inflow went to Franklin Templeton’s XRPZ. Trading value across XRP products reached $12.66 million, with combined assets holding at about $1 billion.

HYPE ETFs remained the weakest part of the market. The category recorded $2.89 million in net outflows, extending a difficult run that has followed its strong launch period. Bitwise’s BHYP lost $2.24 million, while 21Shares’ THYP posted a withdrawal of about $658,940. HYPE ETF trading value reached $12.82 million, and net assets fell to $279.22 million.

Monday’s figures showed that institutional capital has not disappeared. It has become more selective, favoring ether and measured altcoin exposure while bitcoin and HYPE funds work through renewed selling pressure.
