Bybit Pay And Mesh Partner On Crypto Payments

Bybit, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, said on September 3 that it is partnering with Mesh to let its 80 million users pay across Mesh-powered platforms directly from their Bybit balance. The integration runs through Bybit Pay and removes the need for users to withdraw funds or manually convert assets before completing a payment.

How the Bybit Pay Integration Works

When a Bybit user tops up an account or checks out on a platform connected to Mesh, they can select Bybit Pay as a payment option and spend the assets they already hold on the exchange. For businesses, the partnership offers a direct connection to Bybit’s global user base through their existing Mesh integration, without building a separate onramp.

Bybit Pay is available to businesses on Mesh starting today, according to the announcement. Mesh, founded in 2020, describes itself as building a global payments network that connects exchanges, wallets, and financial-services platforms for digital-asset transactions.

The exchange’s payment rails handle conversion and settlement on the back end, so a merchant can price a transaction in the asset it wants while the customer spends a different one from their Bybit account.

What the Companies Are Saying

“Bybit has built one of the most engaged communities in crypto,” said Bam Azizi, Mesh’s CEO and co-founder. “People shouldn’t have to move their money to use it. We bring the network to where the money already is.”

Sophie Chen, Bybit’s head of marketing for Card and Pay, said the product is designed to remove the friction between holding digital assets and using them to pay, with platforms able to receive the asset they want while users pay with the asset they already hold.

Part of Bybit Pay’s Wider Payments Push

The Mesh deal extends a string of partnerships Bybit Pay has struck to widen where its users can spend crypto. The product has previously joined Mastercard’s Crypto Credential network to simplify verifiable transfers and added regional partners to bring crypto payments to new markets.

The partnership arrives as stablecoins and digital assets move further into everyday commerce, with exchanges positioning their payment rails as an alternative to card and bank networks. It also signals how exchanges are increasingly competing with traditional fintechs on payments rather than only on trading.

Whether the Mesh integration meaningfully expands merchant adoption remains to be seen, but it gives Bybit another route to connect its user base to spending platforms without leaving its ecosystem.
