Key Takeaways

  • ARK 21Shares led $131.13M in bitcoin ETF outflows on Thursday as selling spread across major funds.
  • Ether gained $6.72M and XRP $2.25M, showing demand shifting beyond bitcoin.
  • BMO and National Bank of Canada disclosed XRP exposure, putting 2 banks in the next adoption test.

Ether ETFs Add $6.72M as Bitcoin Funds Stay Under Pressure

The week’s pressure on bitcoin ETFs intensified on Thursday as redemptions spread across several major funds. Fresh buying in two products softened the blow, though the overall balance remained firmly negative.

Ether and XRP told a calmer story. Both finished the session with net inflows, extending a pattern of selective demand outside bitcoin.

Bitcoin Selling Broadens Across Major Funds

Bitcoin ETF outflows reached $131.13 million during a mixed session. ARK 21Shares’ ARKB led the withdrawals with $58.82 million, followed closely by Fidelity’s FBTC at $55.12 million. For Fidelity, this marked two days of straight outflows worth $101 million. Grayscale’s GBTC lost $36.29 million.

Bitwise’s BITB posted a $9.28 million outflow, while Invesco’s BTCO shed $7.88 million. Blackrock’s IBIT, often among the market’s strongest inflow sources, recorded a $5.74 million exit. Wisdomtree’s BTCW lost another $4.02 million.

Two funds attracted capital. Grayscale’s Bitcoin Mini Trust added $38.93 million, while Morgan Stanley’s MSBT brought in $7.08 million. Total bitcoin ETF trading value reached $1.24 billion, with combined net assets closing at $77.27 billion.

Ether and XRP Find Buyers

Ether ETFs added $6.72 million, led by a $6.47 million inflow into Grayscale’s Ether Mini Trust. Morgan Stanley’s MSSE contributed another $811,330. A $569,200 withdrawal from Blackrock’s ETHA reduced the final total. Ether ETF trading value reached $339.77 million, while net assets closed at $10.57 billion.

XRP ETFs also finished in positive territory. Bitwise’s XRP fund attracted the full $2.25 million in daily inflows. Trading value totaled $7.88 million, and combined net assets ended at $942.25 million.

The day’s XRP inflow came alongside signs that regulated exposure is reaching traditional bank portfolios. Bank of Montreal disclosed small positions in the REX-Osprey XRP ETF and Proshares Ultra XRP ETF in its latest regulatory filing.

National Bank of Canada also reported exposure to Bitwise’s XRP ETF, as well as holdings in U.S.-listed bitcoin products.

Solana and HYPE ETFs recorded no net flows during the session.

Thursday’s ledger left bitcoin carrying most of the selling pressure, while ether and XRP continued to draw incremental capital. The latest bank disclosures add another layer to that story, showing how crypto-linked products are gradually finding their way into established institutional portfolios.
