Google’s AI agent, Gemini Spark, has taken another step forward with direct integration into the Chrome browser, allowing users to automate complex web tasks. The update, announced on July 30, 2026, also extends Spark’s availability to over 160 additional countries for Google AI Pro subscribers. The news coincided with a 9.97% surge in the Spark (SPK) token price, climbing to $0.016005 as of the same date.
The Chrome integration introduces “auto-browse” capabilities, enabling Spark to handle web errands like booking flights, scheduling apartment viewings, and managing online workflows. By using stored credentials and saved passwords, the AI agent can automate tasks while maintaining user oversight on sensitive actions, such as financial transactions. Security measures, including protection against prompt injection attacks, were emphasized in the announcement. Initially, this feature is rolling out in the U.S., with plans for broader geographic availability in the future.
Since its debut at Google I/O in May 2026, Gemini Spark has positioned itself as a pioneering agentic assistant, capable of proactively performing tasks across Google Workspace apps like Gmail, Calendar, Drive, and more. Unlike traditional chatbots, Spark operates autonomously in the background while giving users control over major decisions. Earlier this month, Spark expanded to macOS, enabling local file access and real-time topic tracking for news, finance, and sports updates.
The global rollout to 160+ countries marks the largest expansion of Spark’s user base to date, following its initial release in select regions. This move aligns with Google’s larger strategy to make its AI tools accessible to a wider audience. On July 24, 2026, the company broadened Spark availability to include additional subscription tiers, part of a larger push into agent-focused services.
