Ripple (XRP)’s $25M RLUSD donation funded 48,108 classroom projects and supported 141,600 students via Teach For America, showcasing crypto philanthropy.

Ripple (XRP)’s $25 million commitment to U.S. education, one of the largest stablecoin donations in history, is yielding tangible results a year after its launch. Delivered via Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin, the funds have transformed thousands of classrooms and directly supported teachers and students across all 50 states.

Partnering with DonorsChoose and Teach For America (TFA), Ripple targeted critical gaps in educational resources, from basic classroom supplies to financial literacy programs. This initiative not only highlights the potential of crypto-native philanthropy but also underscores Ripple’s broader commitment to fostering equitable access to education.

DonorsChoose: 48,000 Classroom Projects Funded

Ripple allocated $15 million to DonorsChoose, a platform where teachers request funding for classroom needs. The results were striking: 48,108 classroom projects were funded, with 86% serving low-income schools. This impact touched everything from science kits in rural areas to books in urban classrooms, ensuring resources reached the students who needed them most.

Alix Guerrier, CEO of DonorsChoose, noted, “Ripple’s clarity of intention and scale of commitment made it possible to deliver meaningful results for teachers and students nationwide.” The partnership was lauded at the Anthem Awards, winning the Community Voice Award and a Bronze for Best Education Initiative.

Teach For America: Financial Literacy and Blockchain Bootcamps

The remaining $10 million was directed to Teach For America, enabling 2,300 new teachers to enter classrooms armed with stipends funded by Ripple. These educators reached 141,600 students in their first year, while another 270,600 students gained access to financial literacy resources—critical for fostering economic opportunity at a young age.

Ripple’s partnership with TFA also brought blockchain education to high schools through a new Blockchain Bootcamp series. This forward-thinking initiative introduced students to crypto and blockchain concepts, preparing them for a future where digital assets play a key financial role.

Ripple’s Ignite tutoring program further supported 6,538 students with targeted academic assistance, highlighting the multifaceted impact of the initiative.

Crypto Philanthropy at Scale

Ripple’s use of RLUSD stablecoin for this donation showcases the growing role of crypto in philanthropy. Stablecoins, tied to fiat currency, offer transparency and efficiency in fund distribution. This donation not only addressed immediate classroom needs but also demonstrated how blockchain technology can enhance traditional charitable efforts.

As of May 7, 2026, Ripple’s native token XRP trades at $1.41, with a market cap of $86.6 billion. While the direct market impact of Ripple’s philanthropy is limited, such initiatives build goodwill and set a precedent for crypto-powered social impact.

What’s Next?

One year in, Ripple’s education initiative has reshaped the narrative around stablecoin use in philanthropy. With over 48,000 classroom projects funded and hundreds of thousands of students impacted, Ripple has proven that crypto-native donations can operate at scale with real-world results. Looking ahead, the success of programs like the Blockchain Bootcamp could spur broader adoption of blockchain education, potentially benefiting the crypto industry in the long term.

Ripple’s $25 million education bet is more than a donation—it’s a case study in how crypto can directly contribute to societal progress.
