Ripple’s XRP token had quite a bullish year in 2025. The asset climbed to an all-time high of $3.65 in July 2025, riding the settlement of the SEC vs. Ripple lawsuit. While 2025 was quite bullish for XRP, 2026 has been quite lackluster. The asset has faced a near 73% correction since its 2025 peak. While XRP’s 2026 performance may not inspire confidence, the asset could be a gem in the next bull run. Let’s look at two reasons to hold on to XRP.

XRP’s price had struggled to gain momentum for several years due to the SEC filing a suit against Ripple in December 2020. The financial regulator alleged that the fintech company sold unregistered securities. However, a US court ruled that only the sale of XRP to institutions would fall under securities laws. The verdict led to a massive surge in investor confidence, especially among retail players.

2025 not only saw the settlement of the SEC vs. Ripple lawsuit, but also the launch of several spot ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds) for XRP. Unfortunately, the ETF launches came after the bear market had set in and did not do much to push XRP’s price. ETFs have become a core part of the cryptocurrency landscape. Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) climbed to new all-time highs in 2025 thanks partly to increased ETF inflows. Many expect XRP ETFs to see substantial interest when the next bull run kicks in. Prices could see new peaks when we the bear market is over.

Secondly, Ripple, the fintech company behind the XRP Ledger, has seen substantial adoption for its blockchain infrastructure. BlackRock CEO Larry Fink had recently said that real world asset tokenization will be a key part of the financial sector in the coming years. Ripple could play a substantial role in the tokenization of assets. XRP could potentially see a price boost under such circumstances.
