Why Is XRP Up Today?
XRP’s rally comes amid a larger market-wide resurgence. Bitcoin (BTC) has climbed to the $77,000 price mark after months of struggle and other assets are following its trajectory. There are several factors that may have led to the market rally.
Firstly, President Trump hosted a cryptocurrency event at the White House, inviting several CEOs and founders from the sector. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse was also one of the attendees. During the event Trump stated that the US plans to buy a large number of Bitcoin (BTC) and other cryptocurrencies. Garlinghouse’s presence may have led to investors speculating about the US potentially including XRP in its portfolio.

Another reason behind XRP and the larger cryptocurrency market’s rally could be the Treasury’s bond buyback move. Bernstein strategist Gautam Chhugani, “Bitcoin historically has had a positive reaction to liquidity expansion. And this year’s apathy towards Bitcoin and crypto markets was a combination of tighter markets post Iran conflict, with rising risks of inflation and a very strong AI/semis trade pulling all the liquidity away.“
XRP had quite a bullish year in 2025, but has struggled for most of 2026. The latest rally has brought substantial relief to investors, reigniting hopes of XRP reclaiming the $2 mark. We could be entering the early phases of another bull run.
